Kassandra Valentine

Lost are Kassandra’s exact origins, her earliest memories being of the war torn landscapes of Thrane during the cap years of the last war. Kassandra hadn’t always been alone, vivid and yet vague memories of her parents who were swept away in the destruction of the war hibernate in the back of her mind. More significantly Kassandra had always felt a secondary presence as if her soul were more substantial than it is, the presence of a dream spirit that had bound to her soul and it’s previous incarnations generations ago. The guidance and intuition of Kassandra’s soul is what gave Kassandra the direction and hope to keep going when she was physically alone.

After the loss of Kassandra’s family she spent months wandering the planes, woods, and valleys of her nation while living off the land. At last Kassandra arrived in town. Ivanstead is named for its chief, Ivan. The town seemed untouched by the seeds of war but unbeknownst to Kassandra something more esoteric had taken root, paranoia. Many of the people of Ivanstead were extreme in their beliefs, fearful of the forces of magic and chaos, unfortunately both were second nature to young Kassandra who had taken to using her arcane and psychic gifts for herself. So when Kassandra was taken into the orphanage her presence stirred the people for she previously had no need to be conservative with her gifts.

The orphanage attendant, the elf, Eliana Valentine founded the shelter at the dawn of the war and had watched over it. El had watched the town turn sour and die what she could to watch over the children, years went by and eventually Kassandra had even taken to working at the orphanage herself, however after an illness fell on the town the town looked to purge magic from their midst. On this same night, Kassandra dreamed for the first time. Kassandra felt the presence of the call and saw the raw landscapes of Thrae and soon she realized she was not dreaming but rather laying in dew strewn grass in a field she had never seen before.
